Privacy Policy

Who we are

Wenk is a LinkedIn content assistant operated from South Africa. References to “we”, “us” or “Wenk” mean the operating entity behind wenk.co.za. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

  • Your name, email address and password (via Supabase Auth)
  • Your professional role, industry and topics of interest (provided during onboarding)
  • Posts and drafts you create or save inside Wenk
  • Subscription and payment metadata returned by Paystack (we never see or store your card number)
  • Usage logs — which features you use and AI token consumption per request — for billing and abuse prevention
  • Email addresses from lead-magnet landing pages, your consent record and version, referral source (UTM parameters), and a one-click unsubscribe token
  • Engagement events — when you copy a post inside Wenk or click “Open LinkedIn”, we record which action, when, which part of Wenk it happened in, and which post where available, so we can measure whether people are actually posting what they draft

How we use it

  • Operating the service: generating your daily brief, drafting your posts, sending emails
  • Billing you for the subscription you chose
  • Communicating about your account (welcome, trial reminders, payment issues, cancellation confirmations)
  • Measuring product experiments — tracking whether and when trial users convert to paid subscriptions to evaluate the effectiveness of features like trial-length changes
  • Delivering your requested resource and a short email follow-up sequence (up to four touches over ten days), and measuring which referral sources bring engaged visitors
  • Measuring engagement — using the copy and “Open LinkedIn” events above to understand whether Wenk is actually helping people post, per user and per part of Wenk
  • Improving Wenk — aggregate, anonymised usage patterns

Our lawful basis for the engagement measurement above is legitimate interest — understanding whether the product works. We do not use this data for advertising, and it is not shared outside the service (see “Who we share it with” below).

Who we share it with

Wenk uses a small number of vetted sub-processors strictly to run the service:
  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • OpenRouter — AI model access (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google)
  • Brave Search — news article retrieval
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Paystack — subscription billing
  • Meta (Facebook) — advertising measurement, public pages only (see Cookies below)
We do not sell your information. We do not share information from inside your Wenk account with advertisers. On our public pages only — home, pricing, sign-up, sign-in, privacy, terms — we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel described below; it does not run once you are signed in.

Your rights under POPIA

You can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your account, or a complete data export — at any time, fromyour settings page or by emailing privacy@wenk.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Retention

We keep your account and post history while your account is active. Your engagement records are linked to your account and are erased automatically as part of account deletion, along with the rest of your personally identifiable information, within 30 days. Aggregate, anonymised usage logs may be retained longer.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase) and to remember your session — these run everywhere in Wenk. On our public pages only (home, pricing, sign-up, sign-in, privacy, terms — never inside the logged-in product) we also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. It sets an advertising cookie (called "_fbp") and sends information about your activity on these pages — including page visits and when you sign up — along with your IP address and browser information, to Meta, so we can measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads are working. You can opt out by emailing privacy@wenk.co.za, or by using your browser's tracking-protection or ad-blocking settings.
